Terms of Use

Effective August 22, 2026. These terms govern the Frame browser extension, this website, and Frame Pro licenses.

1. The product

Frame is a screen recorder with automatic zoom, delivered as a browser extension for Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Brave. Firefox is not supported. The marketing site is informational. Together, the extension and site are the Service.

By installing or using Frame you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, uninstall the extension and do not use Pro features.

2. Free plan

Frame Free may be used without creating an account. Free includes browser recording, automatic zoom and pan, the editor, preset backgrounds, hide-browser-chrome, 1080p local export, and local rendering.

Free is licensed for non-commercial use only. You may not use Free for client work, employer work, paid content, advertising, or any use you are compensated for. Those uses require Frame Pro.

3. Frame Pro is a license, not a subscription

Purchasing Frame Pro grants a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to one natural person (1 user) to use Pro features of the Frame extension.

• It is not a subscription. There is no recurring charge and no seat that expires at the end of a month.
• The current early-bird price is $79 USD, marked down from $119. The early-bird window may end without further notice.
• Pro includes commercial use for that one user, microphone and camera, 4K export, custom backgrounds, 9:16 and 1:1 export, and lifetime access to offline Pro features we ship to the extension.
• The license does not include a right to cloud features we may build later, unless we say so in writing at purchase.
• You may activate the license on a reasonable number of browser profiles that you personally use. You may not share it with a team, a company seat pool, or a public CI image.

Until payment processing is connected, no purchase is completed through this website, and any Activate Pro on this browser control is a local demo flag only — it does not create a paid license.

4. What you record

You are responsible for the content you capture. Do not record other people, private communications, or third-party material unless you have the right to do so. Frame does not review recordings because recordings never leave your machine.

5. Local processing

Capture, click-zoom detection, editing, and export run on your device. Videos are not uploaded to Frame as part of normal use. See the Privacy Policy.

6. Acceptable use

You may not: reverse-engineer the extension to steal license checks for redistribution; resell Free or Pro as your own product; use Frame to capture credentials, payment data, or intimate imagery without lawful basis; or attempt to disrupt the Service.

7. Intellectual property

Frame, the Frame mark, and the extension are owned by the Frame project. These terms do not transfer ownership. Videos you export are yours, subject to third-party rights in whatever you recorded.

8. Store listing and unpacked builds

While Frame is distributed as an unpacked developer build, you install it at your own risk from the repository you trust. A Chrome Web Store listing, when published, is the supported distribution channel. Sideloaded copies are not automatically licensed for Pro.

9. Refunds

When paid checkout exists, we intend a 14-day refund on Pro if the extension is fundamentally unusable in a supported browser, requested through support, with the license deactivated. Change-of-mind after a successful commercial export may be refused. This section is inoperative until payments are live.

10. Disclaimer

The Service is provided as is. We do not warrant uninterrupted recording, that automatic zoom will fire on every intended click pair, or that every site will allow capture. Browser vendors can change APIs. Frame may stop working after a browser update until we ship a fix.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Frame is not liable for lost recordings, lost profits, or indirect damages. For a paid Pro license, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for that license in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change. Continued use after an update is acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes to the Pro license (for example, turning a lifetime offline license into a subscription) will not apply retroactively to licenses already paid.
